Sustainable and regional: Shopping day at Gundi's

    a truly special shopping experience

It's not just wardrobes that love MAWA hangers; numerous clothing stores also showcase their favorite pieces on MAWA hangers – from Munich to Tokyo, from large chains to small, select boutiques. Among them is Gundi Gebhard's "Im Verweilchen" (In the Little Shop). We'd like to introduce you to this very special shop today, because shopping isn't just shopping – at least not at Gundi's.

How would I describe my experience at Gundi's? Quite simply: extraordinary. An extraordinary person, but also an extraordinary concept. As soon as I entered the shop, Gundi immediately offered me a fresh ginger-lemon tea, and it almost seemed as if she knew exactly what I needed. And that's precisely how the rest of my stay at "Verweilchen" was.

    Gundi Gebhard

Gundi is the founder and owner of "Im Verweilchen," a small boutique far removed from the hustle and bustle of the big city, nestled in the countryside near Pfaffenhofen, and for more than just that reason a true hidden gem. At Gundi's, you'll find everything from the season's fashion trends and home decor to cosmetic treatments. But that's not all. She also caters to your culinary needs – all individually tailored to your wishes and requirements. Gundi doesn't just sell clothes, she sells an experience, whether you're visiting with your best friends, on a family outing, or enjoying a private visit just for yourself. Or join Gundi at one of her numerous fashion events and be inspired.

Gundi, could you briefly describe who you are, what products you offer, and what one can experience at your establishment?

I'm 65 years young and I've always listened carefully! I've listened to what the people around me need to feel good and what makes them happy. I also have a passion for fashion, which is why eight years ago I decided to buy an old farmhouse in the countryside and transform it into a haven of well-being for body and soul. The heart of my concept is my boutique, where customers can find carefully selected clothing, far removed from the mainstream and tailored to their individual personality and style.

Generally, due to my location, I don't have any walk-in customers and therefore no fixed opening hours. This means clients book an appointment from Monday to Saturday and reserve the boutique visit exclusively for themselves or a small group. Of course, this includes personalized consultation, which is extremely important to me—another reason why I don't work with walk-in customers but offer personal appointments. Only in this way can I focus on each client and get to know them better in order to provide the best possible service.

Of course, body and soul are also taken care of with homemade specialties, which I like to serve in my beautifully landscaped garden.

What role does sustainability play in your concept?

A very big one, of course! Sustainability and fair trade play a crucial role in the selection of labels and products I offer, and not just now, but for the past 16 years.

Furthermore, sustainability plays a major role in advising and selecting clothes for each individual customer. I encourage my customers to bring in old favorite pieces and help them refresh these tried-and-true items with accessories or a new top. When putting together an outfit, I also always try to ensure that all the pieces combine well and can be used for different looks.

Even clothes that couldn't be sold don't end up in the used clothing collection at my house. Last summer, for example, I had some skirts left over from a really lovely fabric. The pattern was a bit more daring, though. So I had cushion covers made from them, which add a wonderful touch to the interior decor.

    Our tip:

Have you seen our new C-Cycle yet? It's made from plant waste and is more sustainable than ever. Plus, it comes in two new colors: sand and stone grey.

What exactly makes your shop stand out? What delights your customers?

Firstly, of course, you can spend a whole day in my boutique in an exceptional atmosphere. But that's not all. I've made it my mission to highlight the best features of every individual. Because everyone is beautiful, and I want to guide my customers, so to speak, and emphasize their unique beauty with clothing that suits them and adds that certain something. With the right clothes, you feel more comfortable and confident, and you project a completely different image. That's why it's also important for me to get to know my customers better so I can tailor their clothing to their profession or leisure activities.

    Gundi's new favorite:

    Super stylish yet comfortable!
Designed in black and white, it goes with all outfits and its unique shape makes it a real eye-catcher!
