When determining the shape of our hangers, we consider two key areas: the contour of the hanger under the hook and at the shoulder. Some of our hangers are slightly more angular under the hook—the so-called collar shape—while others are round. As the name suggests, the collar shape is ideal for all garments with collars, such as blouses, shirts, blazers, or jackets. These include, for example, the Silhouette and Bodyform models. The round shape of the Economic hanger, on the other hand, is ideal for sweaters and tops with round necklines.
Some hangers, such as the Bodyform and some wooden hangers , are reinforced at the shoulders, which is ideal for jackets, coats and blazers.
With this distinction, you can easily determine which bracket shape suits your needs.
When it comes to choosing wooden or metal hangers, we recommend that customers rely entirely on their own taste. You should also consider the design of your wardrobe and your home, as well as the feel of the different materials.
For shirts and lightweight tops (depending on the shape of the collar or neckline), we recommend the particularly slim Silhouette Light FT and the Economic Light PT . For slightly heavier garments or larger sizes, the Silhouette F and Economic P are ideal.
Jackets, coats, and blazers sit perfectly on the Bodyform or Prestige hanger. Alternatively, a wooden hanger like the Business or Profi models is suitable. The Profi coat hanger is also available with widened shoulders .
There are several different models for trousers, each with slightly different uses. The MAWAmat and Panta clamp hangers clamp the trousers at the bottom hem, while the clip hanger clamps the trousers at the waistband . If there's less space under the clothes rail, you can also fold the trousers and hang them over the KH trouser hanger .
If you want to hang more than one item of clothing on one hanger, universal hangers with a bar and skirt hooks are ideal.
Hanging height refers to the distance between the clothes rail and the hanger support. If this distance is not uniform, a "wave" will appear in the closet, which can quickly look messy.

For wet laundry, we recommend our Silhouette Light FT drying hanger with stainless steel hooks. Wet blouses and shirts dry particularly quickly on it, leaving them looking almost freshly ironed.
We offer our hangers in various widths, roughly based on standard clothing sizes. For children, the 25 or 30 cm width is suitable. The Silhouette, Economic, and Bodyform models are also available in widths of 36 or 38 cm for small sizes, 40 or 42 cm for medium sizes, and 45 or 46 cm for large sizes.
For our wooden hangers, we recommend width 41 for smaller sizes from 34 - 42 and width 45 cm for everything above.
Do you wear different sizes depending on the garment and are unsure which width is perfect? Then measure a suitable hanger from shoulder to shoulder. If in doubt, we recommend going for the next larger width, as the rounded ends of our hangers won't leave an imprint on your sleeve even if you're a few centimeters away.

Metal hangers are often made from easily recycled materials. However, you should pay attention to the coating that provides the anti-slip effect: At MAWA, we avoid heavy metals and phthalate-based plasticizers, because hangers come into contact with your skin and clothing every day.
