    EXPERT INTERVIEW WITH SARAH RACKWITZ

Our guest today is Sarah Rackwitz, an organization expert. Sarah studied clothing technology and is therefore a true expert when it comes to textiles, from different qualities and processing methods to care. After 17 years as a project manager in the automotive industry, she has now turned her passion into her profession and completed further training as an organization expert at the Center for Professional Organizers. In her work, Sarah focuses on clear structures and places great value on sustainability.

"Organization at home and in the wardrobe" sounds almost like a dry topic. How do you perceive the desire for more order among your clients?

Even though organizing your wardrobe might sound unspectacular at first, many of my clients actually want exactly that: more clarity and structure. I often hear that they feel overwhelmed by too many clothes or a chaotic closet and find themselves reaching for the same items every morning. A well-organized wardrobe makes it easier to consciously choose favorite pieces and discover new combinations. With the right organization, you not only create more space, but also a sense of satisfaction every time you open your closet doors.

As an organization expert, you get to look in many wardrobes. Are there things that you always notice?

Yes, there are certain patterns I encounter time and again! A common problem is that many people have too many clothes they don't wear – often for sentimental reasons or because they're waiting for the "right occasion." This leads to a lack of organization, and people often end up wearing the same items repeatedly. Wardrobes then become a source of frustration because the potential of the clothes isn't being utilized. A clear structure and an awareness of combination possibilities can help to use the wardrobe more efficiently and avoid daily frustration.

For those who have little time: Do you have three tips for quickly tidying up your wardrobe?

Sort out your wardrobe immediately: If a garment is damaged, stained, or you simply no longer enjoy wearing it, get rid of it right away. This creates space, and you only keep what you truly value.

Group by category: Hang shirts, trousers and dresses together so you can see everything at a glance and select quickly.

Use uniform organizers and hangers: Uniform hangers and matching storage solutions create structure and a harmonious overall impression – your wardrobe will immediately look neater and tidier.

We at MAWA are particularly passionate about clothes hangers. Which hangers do you recommend to your customers, and what do you consider important?

I recommend MAWA metal hangers to my customers because the combination of a uniform, attractive appearance and well-thought-out functionality is unique. They are non-slip, space-saving, and gentle on clothing – a real organizational aid in the wardrobe. Furthermore, they are made in Germany and sustainably produced, making them a durable and environmentally friendly choice.

Are you already familiar with our Silhouette clothes hanger with skirt hooks?

It not only features our practical collar design, but also offers a stand and skirt hook, making it universally usable for tops, suits, trousers or skirts! Everything your wardrobe needs.

What does your dream wardrobe look like – and do you already have it at home?

My dream wardrobe is a blend of functionality and style. I envision an open wardrobe where I can see everything at a glance and which is also visually appealing. Every item has its designated place, and putting things away is just as easy as taking them out – without the clothes getting creased. For me, the perfect wardrobe is a combination of shelves, drawers, a trouser rack, and clothes rails that creates order and clarity. I'm already very happy with my own wardrobe, but since my job constantly provides me with new inspiration, I'm always optimizing it.
