What questions about wardrobe organization do customers ask MAWA?
Sara Breininger: We now receive daily calls from customers with questions about clothes hangers and choosing the right ones. We've noticed there's a real need for this information. Often, customers have already looked at our models in detail and have a general idea of which hangers they want to use to organize their wardrobe. But when it comes to the finer points and details, they still pick up the phone. The most frequent questions concern the different hanging options for trousers and combination hangers .
We then explain to customers that it all depends on their personal preferences: some like to secure trousers with clips, others fold them over a trouser bar. A combination hanger like the Silhouette FRS is practical because an entire outfit fits on it, saving additional space. However, hanging and removing clothes from it is a bit more involved.
Rebecca Koch: We all have very full wardrobes these days, and it can be overwhelming at first when you want to organize your closet. I think that's why it's easier for some clients to tackle the project together with us. Often they'll have the phone in their hand and count the different items of clothing in their closet. We take notes, get an overview, and then systematically go through everything until we've put together a personalized set of clothes hangers together.
What is the first step in a consultation to organize a wardrobe?
Rebecca Koch: There are a few basic questions we always clarify before organizing a wardrobe: Is limited space a factor? Are there any items of clothing that shouldn't be hung up? What items does your wardrobe consist of? Based on the answers, we can make a good initial selection. But personal taste and clothing size are also important, since we at MAWA offer a wide variety of colors and styles.
What is particularly important to customers when organizing their wardrobes?
Sara Breininger: Many customers ask whether wooden or metal clothes hangers are better. But there's no simple answer. In this case, we explain the advantages of both materials: Metal is often more space-saving and cheaper, and our non-slip coating is simply practical. Because of the many colors we offer, you can't say that metal hangers are only functional – with our collections in copper or with gold hooks, you can beautifully accentuate your interior design style and optimally organize your wardrobe.
Customers often perceive wooden hangers as particularly high-quality and elegant. Our beechwood hangers also have a unique feel that metal hangers simply can't offer. Ultimately, however, the choice between wood and metal is a matter of personal taste and style. We always advise against plastic hangers – they break and bend easily and aren't a good idea from a sustainability perspective either.
What important aspects do customers rarely think about when they want to organize their wardrobe?
Rebecca Koch: Sustainability! Our customers generally place great value on high-quality and sustainable products. Many come to us because they know we produce in Germany and that MAWA stands for top quality. But I believe we go much deeper into the topic of sustainability than many customers realize. For example, if a batch of hangers isn't perfect, we remove the anti-slip coating and recycle it, along with the steel of the hangers. For the coating itself, we use a formula without toxic plasticizers – when you're organizing your wardrobe or ironing clothes daily, your hands, like your clothes, are constantly in contact with the material. That's why it's nice to have peace of mind and know that we care not only about the environment but also directly about each and every customer.
And what does your wardrobe at home look like?
Sara Breininger: Like probably many of my colleagues, I have a lot of different colored hangers in my wardrobe. I'm right at the source, so I often can't resist when we add a new model to our collection. Luckily, thanks to the uniform hanging height of all MAWA hangers, my wardrobe still looks tidy, because all the hangers can be easily combined.
Rebecca Koch: Like Sara, I also have a mix of several colors (silver and pink). For the past few months, I've finally had a large wardrobe and no longer have to share a clothes rack with my husband.
