DIY: Christmas decorations made from clothes hangers

    It's that easy...

As temperatures drop and the days grow shorter, the scent of freshly baked cookies, mulled wine, and pine branches suddenly fills the air. Candles and fairy lights illuminate the darkness, and contemplative music drifts from many homes. In short: Christmas is just around the corner. Many people use this dark time of year to create a cozy atmosphere in their homes. This includes Advent and Christmas decorations. And these don't always have to be bought new. Many beautiful decorations can be crafted using everyday objects and natural materials.

How to make your own personalized Advent calendar

An Advent calendar makes getting up fun even on cold days and shortens the wait for Christmas for young and old alike. With a homemade calendar, individual preferences can easily be taken into account: whether classic with chocolate or toys, special teas or herbs, beauty products, or a colorful mix. If you don't want to simply put the little treats in a box or something similar, you can also hang them on a clothes hanger. It's easy:

    1. Decorate clothes hangers as you like, for example with fir branches, pine cones, nuts, fairy lights or small Christmas baubles.
    2. Wrap gifts in paper or bags
    3. Tie 24 packages with different string lengths to the clothes hanger.
    4. Hang clothes hangers, for example on a wall nail, a door or the stairs.

Alternatively, you can attach the individual bags to a long string using our MAWA clips and hang them up accordingly.

Christmas trees made from clothes hangers

But these festively decorated clothes hangers aren't just for advent calendars; they can also be used to hang Santa stockings or as eye-catching decorations in doors and windows. Craft enthusiasts and Christmas lovers can even hook or tie several clothes hangers together to create "Christmas trees." A single clothes hanger forms the top of the tree. The second "tier" is then attached to it – one hanger on each side is hooked into the top hanger and secured with wire. Depending on the desired width of the "Christmas tree," three, four, or even more hangers can be placed side by side and connected in subsequent rows. It's important to ensure the hangers are arranged symmetrically so the tree remains straight. Decorated with fairy lights and Christmas baubles, the clothes hangers become festive decorations. Let Christmas begin!
