DIY: Christmas decorations made from coat hangers

    It's that easy...

As the temperatures drop and the days get shorter, the scent of freshly baked cookies, mulled wine, and fir branches suddenly fills the air. Candles and fairy lights illuminate the darkness, and contemplative music echoes from many homes. In short: Christmas is just around the corner. Many people use the dark season to create a cozy atmosphere in their homes. This includes Advent and Christmas decorations. These don't always have to be bought new. Many beautiful decorative pieces can be made from everyday objects and natural products.

How to make your own individual Advent calendar

An Advent calendar makes getting up fun even on cold days, and it shortens the wait until Christmas for young and old. A homemade calendar makes it easy to accommodate individual preferences: whether it's classic chocolate or toys, special teas or herbs, skincare products, or a colorful mix. If you don't want to simply put the little gifts in a box or something similar, you can also hang them on a coat hanger. Just:

    1. Decorate coat hangers as you wish, for example with fir branches, pine cones, nuts, fairy lights or small Christmas tree balls
    2. Wrap gifts in paper or bags
    3. Tie 24 packages with different string lengths to the coat hanger
    4. Hang coat hangers, for example on a wall nail, on a door or on the stairs

Alternatively, you can attach the individual bags to a long string using our MAWA clips and hang them up accordingly.

Christmas trees made from coat hangers

But the Christmas-decorated coat hangers can be used not only for Advent calendars, but also for hanging Santa's stockings or as eye-catchers in doors and windows. Craft enthusiasts and Christmas lovers can also hook or tie several coat hangers together to form "Christmas trees." A single coat hanger forms the top of the tree. The second "tier" is then attached to it – one hanger on the left and one on the right of the top one and fastened with wire. Depending on the desired width of the "Christmas tree," three, four, or even more hangers can be placed next to each other in the following rows and connected together. However, it is important to ensure that the hangers are arranged symmetrically so that the tree remains straight overall. Decorated with fairy lights and Christmas baubles, the coat hangers become festive decorations. Christmas can come!
